Show Opening: Feb. 8th – 17th Dupree Theater, Irving Arts Center

A magical realism play with live music and corporal movement montages, Frida Kahlo: The Art of Being Woman is a biographical show based on the life and work of this iconic Mexican painter, taking us through a visually stunning imaginary world of dreams. After 25 years of successful shows in Puerto Rico and Miami FL, Dramarama begins its journey in Dallas with this show, following critical and box office hits such as the World Premiere of Paulo Coelho’s “Eleven Minutes”, Pedro Almodovar’s “All About My Mother”, “Angels in America”, “The Mousetrap” and many more.

 Frida 1, 2, 3: Three Females (27-46, slim to average, dark hair) dance skills preferred
 Actress: (24-45) for various roles, with dance some skills
 Dancer/Actress: Female dancer with acting skills
 Diego Rivera: Male (28-46, robust, little overweight)
 Actor: (30-50) for various roles (dance skills preferred)
 Dancer/Actor: Male dancer with acting skills
All roles are speaking parts, onstage throughout the play.


Also looking for a Choreographer for artistic corporal movement montages.

It is a tribute to strong, independent women, and how she celebrated life by overcoming limitations transforming them into art and by daring to be different and unique.
