This winter, The Firehouse Theatre in Farmers Branch will deck the halls with Irving Berlin’s iconic holiday tunes in the family-favorite musical, WHITE CHRISTMAS. With tickets as low as $13, this song-and-dance spectacle is sure to please audiences of all ages. WHITE CHRISTMAS opens Friday, November 30th and runs through Sunday, December 16th. Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. On stage, Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. The dazzling score features well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” and the perennial favorite, “White Christmas”.
Kyle Christopher West returns to The Firehouse Theatre after choreographing GYPSY to direct and choreograph the larger-than-life production. He is joined by Mandy Modic of the national tour of 42nd STREET, who will choreograph the iconic tap number “I Love A Piano.”  John Norine Jr. music directs and leads the live orchestra (Jared West, Randy Honeycutt, Katie McCoy, Rachel Madden, Hamilton Levine, and Brad Hawkins). Rounding out the creative team is Elizabeth Cantrell (Stage Manager), Lorens Portalatin (Assistant Director/Properties), Carlos Strudwick (Associate Choreographer), Wendy Rene’e Searcy (Scenic Designer/Technical Director), Cassondra Plybon-Harbin (Lighting Designer), and Riley Larson (Sound Designer).
Leading the cast are Jonathan Garcia (Bob Wallace), Preston Lee Isham (Phil Davis), Amanda Hart Bassett (Betty Haynes) and Ally Van Deuren (Judy Haynes). They are joined by Kristal Seid (Martha Watson), Patrick Persons (General Henry Waverly), Gigi Johnson (Susan Waverly), Caitlin Jones (Rita/Judy understudy), Elizabeth Stevens (Rhoda), Riley Arnold (Ralph Sheldrake), Braiden Fisher (Ezekiel/Ed Sullivan Announcer), Hilary Evitt Allen (Tessie), Anthony Ortega (Jimmy/Snoring Man), Kate Dressler (Mrs. Snoring Man/Secretary/Betty understudy), Nate Frederickson (Train Conductor), Carlos Strudwick (Mike Nulty/Phil understudy), David Midkiff (Dance Captain), Amy Cave, Kimberly Moors, Rodney Morris (Bob understudy), and Stephanie Ormston.

A public preview performance will be held on Thursday, November 29th @ 7:30, followed by Opening Night sponsored by Gatherings at Mercer Crossing on Friday, November 30th @ 7:30. Additional performances will be held Saturday, December 1st @ 2:30 & 7:30, Sunday, December 2nd @ 7:30, Friday, December 7th @ 8:30, Saturday, December 8th @ 7:30, Sunday, December 9th @ 7:30, Thursday, December 13th @ 7:30, Friday, December 14th @ 7:30, Saturday, December 15 @ 2:30 & 7:30 and Sunday, December 16th @ 2:30.

Exciting story opportunities:

Tap Choreographer Mandy Modic is a guest artist from Chicago who grew up in Coppell (her parents currently live in Frisco). She and director Kyle Christopher West met during a press interview promoting the national tour of 42nd Street, of which she was featured. Mandy just returned to the U.S. from Shanghai, China where she developed a musical theater programs for kids.

Gigi Johnson, who plays Susan Waverly recently shot feature film, Mr. Right, appearing as "Young Martha," the adolescent version of Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Twilight, Up In The Air, Into The Woods). Gigi has also appeared in commercials for American Airlines, Pizza Hut, Toys R Us, Zales and Pandora.

Ally Van Deuren stars as Judy Haynes. Ally previously represented the 2017 national tour of White Christmas, singing at promotional events for Dallas Summer Musicals.

More than one-half of the cast of White Christmas are making their debut at The Firehouse Theatre with this production, including Preston Lee Isham (L, Phil Davis), Amanda Hart Bassett (Top R, Betty Haynes), and Jonathan Garcia (Bottom R, Bob Wallace). Several creative team members are also new to the theatre.

One hour before both opening and closing night performance of White Christmas, guests will be treated to hot chocolate, cafe au lait and beignets, served from a food truck in front of the theatre.

Friday, November 30th: Join Dallas Morning News writer and children's book author Nancy Churnin at The Firehouse Theatre as she reads from "Irving Berlin, The Immigrant Boy Who Made America Sing." Firehouse Junior performers will lead guests in a holiday sing-a-long.

Saturday, December 1st: White Christmas understudies take the stage at Farmers Branch's Christmas in the Branch from 5:40pm-6:00pm. They'll perform selections from the show including "Sisters," "Happy Holidays," and "White Christmas."

Tuesday, December 11th: Members of the cast and creative team will sing your favorite Broadway tunes at Alexandre's Bar in Oak Lawn during "Broadway On A Tuesday."
