Denton Community Theatre Announces Auditions for

 

The Graduate

 

Denton Community Theatre is holding auditions for The Graduate, written by Terry Johnson; Adapted from the novel by Charles Webb; Adapted from the screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry; Featuring songs by Paul Simon; Other music by Barrington.  Directed by Danny Armitage auditions will be held on July 16, 17 at 7:00pm at the Campus Theatre located at 214 W. Hickory in Denton.

 

About the show:

Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate, finds himself disillusioned and confused about what his future might be.  When, Mrs. Robinson, the unhappy, but charismatic wife of his father’s business partner tempts him into an illicit affair, he accepts her overtures.  Then he falls in love with Elaine who is optimistic, upbeat, and happens to be Mrs. Robinson’s daughter.  Filled with rapid fire dialogue, dysfunction and bitter, but hilarious comedy, this production is for mature audiences due to subject matter and partial nudity.

 

Auditions are open – no appointments.  Resumes and headshots are appreciated, but not required. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors portraying Benjamin Braddock and Mrs. Robinson will be required to perform partially nude scenes.

Performances are September 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 – 2018 at 7:30pm and September 16, 23 – 2018 at 2:00pm at the Campus Theatre.
