Chad Cline

Chad has been performing and teaching improvisational comedy for over twenty years. He started out in Dallas at Lonestar Comedy studying under Groundlings Member Randy Bennett. Chad went on to teach and eventually run the comedy school at Lonestar. In 2001 Chad moved to Los Angeles where he took classes at Groundlings. Chad performed with The Deviants, directed by long time Groundling and Director of The Groundlings School, Patrick Bristow. Chad also studied under Groundlings Founder Gary Austin.

 

In 2004 Chad returned to Texas when was recruited to be a writer/performer for Esther's Follies in Austin TX. He performed there for the next two years until he was asked to return to Dallas to help open Ad Libs Comedy School. He became a teacher and Mainstage Performer at Ad Libs and developed their curriculum. Chad went on to run the school for several years, teaching hundreds of improvisors. Several have gone on to Chicago, New York, And L.A. to continue education and pursue comedy. Many students have gone on to work in film, television and theatre. Others have taken what they have learned and applied the principles to their business. Some of his former students, such as the founders of Dallas Comedy House, have seen local success as well.


Chad has been represented by The Mary Collins Agency since 2000. He has shared the stage and screen with Jon Lovitz,  Chuck Norris, Clarence Gilyard, Mindy Sterling, and Daniel Roebuck. He has been in several national commercials for Budweiser, Wrigley's Gum , McDonald's, Dennys, Choice Hotels and many more. He has voiced several Anime and Video Game characters in The DragonBall series, Lupin, and Fruits basket, Brothers in arms, Borderlands , and more. He plays Lt. Foster in Pegasus Theatre Living Black and White series and currently performs throughout Texas with the musical improv group The Band, which he co-founded.
