Please keep watch on our website at that time if you are still trying to book a slot. This will be the last block of appointments that we will open. If those fill up we will start a wait list.

Circle Theatre announces auditions for the third show of their 2019 season!

Performance Dates are June 6 – July 13, 2019 (Thursday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturdays)
Rehearsals begin May 13, 2019

Circle Theatre is a member of the Equity Membership Candidacy program.
Housing and transportation are not provided for out of town hires.
Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd is a heart-pounding thriller set on the seedy side streets of 19th century London. Filled with diabolical humor and extraordinary music, this eight-time Tony Award-winning musical tells the tale of an exiled barber's quest to avenge the wrongs done to him and his family by a lecherous judge.
*The roles of Sweeney Todd and Anthony have been cast.
Playing an instrument in not required – however, for some of the roles we are seeking performers who can play an instrument to performance standard as part of the role. If you do play any musical instrument, and it is convenient to bring to the audition, please do so. There will also be a keyboard available. You may or may not be asked to play your instrument at the initial audition.
Track 3 (Johanna) Character age 18-25, any race, high soprano. She is smart, yet inexperienced.
Track 4 (Adolfo Pirelli, Beggar Woman, others) Tenor/Soprano, any age, Italian and irish dialects required, any race.
Characters will be gender specific as created by Sondheim, but any gender may audition for this track.
Track 5 (Judge Turpin/others) baritone, 35-70, any race. Vocal range top: Gb4, Vocal range bottom: E2.
Track 6 (Beadle/others) Any age, Any race, Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom E2.
Track 7 (Tobias) Character age 12-22, any race, Vocal range top: Ab4, Vocal Range bottom, Bb2
Track 8 (Mrs. Lovett) Any age, Any race, Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: G3
When you sign up for an audition, you will receive a link containing audition materials. Please choose one track and come, having prepared

- There will not be a movement call

Circle Theatre embraces non-traditional casting and encourages the casting of ethnic minority actors, non-binary actors, female actors, and physically challenged actors where possible. Individual show directors, together with the artistic director and the acting faculty, make all casting decisions.
